Accessibility Statement

Sustainable Matamata is committed to ensuring our website is accessible and inclusive for everyone in our community. We believe that information about sustainability should be available to all, regardless of technology or ability.

Our goals

We strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website by:

  • Clear Layouts: Using simple, consistent navigation throughout the site.

  • Readability: Choosing clear fonts and ensuring high colour contrast between text and backgrounds.

  • Alternative Text: Providing "Alt Text" for images so that screen readers can describe visual content.

  • Keyboard Navigation: Ensuring our forms and menus can be navigated without a mouse.

  • Simple Language: Writing content that is easy to understand and free of unnecessary jargon.

Known limitations

While we strive for perfection, we are a community-led organisation and some older content or third-party integrations (like embedded maps or social media feeds) may not yet be fully accessible. We are working to address these as we update the site.
